Advent is a time of waiting. Our whole life, however, is
Advent--that is, a time of waiting for the ultimate,
for the time when there will be a new heaven and a new earth,
when all people are brothers and sisters and one rejoices in the words of the angels:
"On earth peace to those on whom God's favor rests."
Learn to wait, because he has promised to come.
"I stand at the door..."
We however call to him: "Yes, come soon,

On December 3, 2017, the new church year begins with the Season of Advent. Advent beings on the fourth Sunday before Christmas. (Christmas Day is not counted as part of Advent) It is a time of preparation, self-reflections, anticipation, and excitement. It is a time in which we can look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and look forward to His Second Coming.
Throughout the Old Testament, there are numerous prophecies which refer to the coming Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus Christ fulfilled these prophecies, as recorded in the New Testament. This Advent Season, we will post a prophecy every day, and the scripture in which Jesus fulfilled the prophecy. Each day, experience the anticipation of the coming Messiah, and the glory of the fulfillment!
Advent 2017 - Day 01
Prophecy: When your [David’s] days are fulfilled and you lie down [in death] with your
fathers (ancestors), I will raise up your descendant after you, who shall be born to you, and I will establish his kingdom. (2 Samuel 7:12, AMP)
Fulfillment: The record of the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son (descendant) of David, the son (descendant) of Abraham… (Mathew 1:1, AMP)
Day 28 of Advent 2016
Prophecy: Therefore my heart is glad and my glory [my innermost self] rejoices; my body too will dwell [confidently] in safety, for You will not abandon me to Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead), nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay. You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:9-11, AMP)
Fulfillment: For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He must rise from the dead. (John 20:9, AMP)
Day 27 of Advent 2016
Prophecy: “He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers [a reconciliation produced by repentance], so that I will not come and strike the land with a curse [of complete destruction].” (Malachi 4:6, AMP)
Fulfillment: He will turn many of the sons of Israel back [from sin] to [love and serve] the Lord their God. It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous [which is to seek and submit to the will of God]—in order to make ready a people [perfectly] prepared [spiritually and morally] for the Lord.” (Luke 1:16-17, AMP)
Day 26 of Advent 2016
Prophecy: “Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord.” (Malachi 4:5, AMP)
Fulfillment: This is the one of whom it is written [by the prophet Malachi], ‘Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’ I assure you and most solemnly say to you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater [in privilege] than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize]. For all the prophets and the Law prophesied up until John. And if you are willing to accept it, John himself is [the fulfillment of] Elijah [as the messenger] who was to come [before the kingdom]. (Matthew 11:10-14, AMP)
