Advent

Day 26 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  “Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord.”  (Malachi 4:5, AMP)

Fulfillment:  This is the one of whom it is written [by the prophet Malachi], ‘Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’  I assure you and most solemnly say to you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater [in privilege] than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize]. For all the prophets and the Law prophesied up until John. And if you are willing to accept it, John himself is [the fulfillment of] Elijah [as the messenger] who was to come [before the kingdom].  (Matthew 11:10-14, AMP)

Day 25 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  “For I am the Lord, I do not change [but remain faithful to My covenant with you]; that is why you, O sons of Jacob, have not come to an end.  (Malachi 3:6, AMP)

Fulfillment:  Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever.  (Hebrews 13:8, AMP)

Day 24 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  Then say to Joshua, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Behold (look, keep in sight, watch), a Man (Messiah) whose name is Branch, for He shall branch out from His place (Israel, the Davidic line); and He shall build the [ultimate] temple of the Lord. Yes, [you are to build a temple of the Lord, but] it is He who shall build the [ultimate] temple of the Lord, and He shall bear the honor and majesty [as the only begotten of the Father] and sit and rule on His throne. And He shall be a Priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between the two offices [Priest and King].”’  (Zechariah 6:12-13, AMP)

Fulfillment:  Now the main point of what we have to say is this: we have such a High Priest, [the Christ] who is seated [in the place of honor] at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty (God) in heaven…(Hebrews 8:1, AMP)

Day 23 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  “For thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Once more, in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. ‘I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the desirable and precious things of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory and splendor,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares the Lord of hosts. ‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘and in this place I shall give [the ultimate] peace and prosperity,’ declares the Lord of hosts.”  (Haggai 2:6-9, AMP)

Fulfillment:  Prompted by the Spirit, he came into the temple [enclosure]; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for Him the custom required by the Law, Simeon took Him into his arms, and blessed and praised and thanked God, and said, “Now, Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to leave [this world] in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your Salvation, which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a Light for revelation to the Gentiles [to disclose what was previously unknown], and [to bring] the praise and honor and glory of Your people Israel.”  (Luke 2:27-32, AMP)

Day 22 of Advent 2016

Prophecy: “And it shall come about that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved [from the coming judgment] for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as the Lord has said, even among the remnant [of survivors] whom the Lord calls.”  (Joel 2:32, AMP)

Fulfillment:  …because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him [whoever adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] will not be disappointed [in his expectations].” For there is no distinction between Jew and Gentile; for the same Lord is Lord over all [of us], and [He is] abounding in riches (blessings) for all who call on Him [in faith and prayer]. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord [in prayer] will be saved.”  (Romans 10:9-13, AMP)
