Day 16 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  For He [the Servant of God] grew up before Him like a tender shoot (plant), and like a root out of dry ground; He has no stately form or majestic splendor that we would look at Him, nor [handsome] appearance that we would be attracted to Him.  (Isaiah 53:2, AMP)

Fulfillment:  who, although He existed in the form and unchanging essence of God [as One with Him, possessing the fullness of all the divine attributes—the entire nature of deity], did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped or asserted [as if He did not already possess it, or was afraid of losing it]; but emptied Himself [without renouncing or diminishing His deity, but only temporarily giving up the outward expression of divine equality and His rightful dignity] by assuming the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men [He became completely human but was without sin, being fully God and fully man]. After He was found in [terms of His] outward appearance as a man [for a divinely-appointed time], He humbled Himself [still further] by becoming obedient [to the Father] to the point of death, even death on a cross.  (Philippians 2:6-8, AMP)

Day 15 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  “I am the Lord, I have called You (the Messiah) in righteousness [for a righteous purpose], I will also take You by the hand and keep watch over You, and I will appoint You as a covenant to the people [Israel], as a light to the nations (Gentiles),  (Isaiah 42:6, AMP)

Fulfillment:  A Light for revelation to the Gentiles [to disclose what was previously unknown], and [to bring] the praise and honor and glory of Your people Israel.” (Luke 2:32, AMP)

Day 14 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  And He will delight in the fear of the Lord, and He will not judge by what His eyes see, nor make decisions by what His ears hear;  (Isaiah 11:3, AMP)

Fulfillment:  and He did not need anyone to testify concerning man [and human nature], for He Himself knew what was in man [in their hearts—in the very core of their being].  (John 2:25, AMP)

Day 13 of Advent 2016

Prophecy: For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  (Isaiah 9:6, AMP)

Fulfillment:  Listen carefully: you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.  (Luke 1:31, AMP)

[the good news] regarding His Son, who, as to the flesh [His human nature], was born a descendant of David [to fulfill the covenant promises], and [as to His divine nature] according to the Spirit of holiness was openly designated to be the Son of God with power [in a triumphant and miraculous way] by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.  (Romans 1:3-4, AMP)

And after coming to [Nazareth] His hometown, He began teaching them in their synagogue, and they were astonished, and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers [what is the source of His authority]?  (Matthew 13:54, AMP)

but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks (Gentiles), Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.  (I Corinthians 1:24, AMP)

I and the Father are One [in essence and nature].”  (John 10:30, AMP)

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]  (John 16:33, AMP)

Day 12 of Advent 2016

Prophecy: And He said, “Go, and tell this people: ‘keep on listening, but do not understand; keep on looking, but do not comprehend.’  “Make the heart of this people insensitive, their ears dull, and their eyes dim, otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and return and be healed.”  (Isaiah 6:9-10, AMP)

Fulfillment:  This is the reason I speak to the crowds in parables: because while [having the power of] seeing they do not see, and while [having the power of] hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand and grasp [spiritual things]. In them the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says, ‘You will hear and keep on hearing, but never understand; and you will look and keep on looking, but never comprehend; for this nation’s heart has grown hard, and with their ears they hardly hear, and they have [tightly] closed their eyes, otherwise they would see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn [to Me] and I would heal them [spiritually].’  (Matthew 13:13-15, AMP)
