Did You Know?

Fifteen men and no women have been

executed in the United States in 2018.

Thursday, May 4, 2017, is the 66th annual National Day of Prayer.  Join with Christians around the world as we lift our voices in prayer to the Lord.  The theme chosen by the National Day of Prayer Task Force for 2017 is For Your Great Name’s Sake!  Hear Us…Forgive Us…Heal Us!  The verse chosen to highlight this theme is Daniel 9:19:

“O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and take action! Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”  (AMP)

Daniel was praying to the Lord God from a foreign land.  He had been taken from Jerusalem as a young man and brought up in the court of a foreign king.  During it all, he remained true and faithful to the God of his fathers.  In the prayer, from which this year’s verse was selected, Daniel is remembering Israel’s past, and how the Lord protected and provided for them then.  Daniel is asking for the Lord’s blessing once more.

We are fortunate to live in a nation where, once a year, the highest office in the land, that of the President, proclaims the first Thursday of May as the National Day of Prayer.  Prayer, fervent prayer, can, according to Scriptures, be the catalyst of great change.  Prayer is how we communicate with our Lord and prayer is needed now more than ever!  Our nation is divided in numerous ways and it has become more and more difficult to see a way to unite America again.  We need the Lord’s help!

Join with The Forgiveness Foundation Christian Ministries, and other Christians throughout the United States, for this National Day of Prayer.  Join in prayer for America!  Join in prayer for yourself and that the Lord may use you for His purpose!  Join in prayer!  Let it be a resounding cry for all to hear and heed!
