Day 18 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  Therefore, I will divide and give Him a portion with the great [kings and rulers], and He shall divide the spoils with the mighty, because He [willingly] poured out His life to death, and was counted among the transgressors; yet He Himself bore and took away the sin of many, and interceded [with the Father] for the transgressors.  (Isaiah 53:12, AMP)

Fulfillment:  Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.  (Matthew 28:18, AMP)

And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit!” Having said this, He breathed His last.  (Luke 23:46, AMP)

They crucified two robbers with Him, one on His right and one on His left. [And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “He was counted with the transgressors.”]  (Mark 15:27-28, AMP)

Christ Jesus is the One who died [to pay our penalty], and more than that, who was raised [from the dead], and who is at the right hand of God interceding [with the Father] for us.  (Romans 8:34, AMP)

Day 17 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; the punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, and by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.  (Isaiah 53:5, AMP)

Fulfillment:  But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while [by taking on the limitations of humanity], crowned with glory and honor because of His suffering of death, so that by the grace of God [extended to sinners] He might experience death for [the sins of] everyone.  (Hebrews 2:9, AMP)

and through [the intervention of] the Son to reconcile all things to Himself, making peace [with believers] through the blood of His cross; through Him, [I say,] whether things on earth or things in heaven.  (Colossians 1:20, AMP)

He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you [who believe] have been healed.  (I Peter 2:24, AMP)

Day 16 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  For He [the Servant of God] grew up before Him like a tender shoot (plant), and like a root out of dry ground; He has no stately form or majestic splendor that we would look at Him, nor [handsome] appearance that we would be attracted to Him.  (Isaiah 53:2, AMP)

Fulfillment:  who, although He existed in the form and unchanging essence of God [as One with Him, possessing the fullness of all the divine attributes—the entire nature of deity], did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped or asserted [as if He did not already possess it, or was afraid of losing it]; but emptied Himself [without renouncing or diminishing His deity, but only temporarily giving up the outward expression of divine equality and His rightful dignity] by assuming the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men [He became completely human but was without sin, being fully God and fully man]. After He was found in [terms of His] outward appearance as a man [for a divinely-appointed time], He humbled Himself [still further] by becoming obedient [to the Father] to the point of death, even death on a cross.  (Philippians 2:6-8, AMP)

Day 15 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  “I am the Lord, I have called You (the Messiah) in righteousness [for a righteous purpose], I will also take You by the hand and keep watch over You, and I will appoint You as a covenant to the people [Israel], as a light to the nations (Gentiles),  (Isaiah 42:6, AMP)

Fulfillment:  A Light for revelation to the Gentiles [to disclose what was previously unknown], and [to bring] the praise and honor and glory of Your people Israel.” (Luke 2:32, AMP)

Day 14 of Advent 2016

Prophecy:  And He will delight in the fear of the Lord, and He will not judge by what His eyes see, nor make decisions by what His ears hear;  (Isaiah 11:3, AMP)

Fulfillment:  and He did not need anyone to testify concerning man [and human nature], for He Himself knew what was in man [in their hearts—in the very core of their being].  (John 2:25, AMP)
