Advent Devotional 2015 - Day 15

Prophecy:  My knees are unsteady from fasting; and my flesh is gaunt and without fatness. (Psalm 109:24, AMP)

Fulfillment:  So they took Jesus, and He went out, bearing His own cross, to the place called the Place of the Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha. (John 19:17, AMP)

When they led Him away, they seized a man, Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in [to the city] from the country, and placed on him the cross to carry behind Jesus.  (Luke 23:26, AMP)

Advent Devotional 2015 - Day 14

Prophecy:  All who see me laugh at me and mock me; They [insultingly] open their lips, they shake their head, saying, “He trusted and committed himself to the Lord, let Him save him.  Let Him rescue him, because He delights in him.”  (Psalm 22:7-8, AMP)

Fulfillment:   After they finished ridiculing Him, they stripped Him of the scarlet robe and put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to crucify Him. (Matthew 27:31, AMP)

Advent Devotional 2015 - Day 13

Prophecy:  Even my own close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me [betraying me]. (Psalm 41:9, AMP)

Fulfillment:  Now these are the names of the twelve apostles (special messengers, personally chosen representatives): first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew (Nathanael); Thomas and Matthew (Levi) the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus (Judas, not Iscariot); Simon the Cananaean (Zealot), and Judas Iscariot, the one who betrayed Him. (Matthew 10:2-4, AMP)

Advent Devotional 2015 - Day 12

Prophecy: Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.  (Isaiah 60:3, AMP)

He says, “It is too trivial a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the survivors of Israel; I will also make You a light to the nations that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”  (Isaiah 49:6, AMP)

Fulfillment:  For that is what the Lord has commanded us, saying,

‘I have placed You as a light for the Gentiles,

So that You may bring [the message of eternal] salvation to the end of the earth.’”

When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying [praising and giving thanks for] the word of the Lord; and all those who had been appointed (designated, ordained) to eternal life [by God] believed [in Jesus as the Christ and their Savior].  (Acts 13:47-48, AMP)

Advent Devotional 2015 - Day 11

Prophecy: I will open my mouth in a parable [to instruct using examples]; I will utter dark and puzzling sayings of old [that contain important truth]— (Psalm 78:2, AMP)

Fulfillment:  All these things Jesus said to the crowds in parables, and He said nothing to them without [using] a parable. (Matthew 13:34, AMP)
