For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6, ESV
Do you remember that feeling? That feeling you felt on Christmas morning? That feeling of excitement, anticipation, joy, happiness. That feeling of love. Would you like to give someone that feeling, the feeling of love, for Christmas this year? Someone whose life may not afford them that feeling every day, or even every year? The Forgiveness Foundation Christian Ministries would like to give approximately 1,500 men and women on death row a chance to experience what most of us experience everyday. Love.
Christmas is a time for remembering the gift of Jesus Christ and celebrating His birth. Often the gift of Jesus Christ, given to us by our Father in Heaven, is celebrated through the giving of gifts to family members and loved ones. The Forgiveness Foundation Christian Ministries’ family includes those on death row in this nation. We would like to send Christmas Cards to approximately 1,500 men and women on death row throughout the Southeast, Southwest, Mideast and Midwest United States. God gave us the Ultimate Gift - His Son - Jesus Christ. Jesus gave His temporal life as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sin. The Forgiveness Foundation Christian Ministries wants to share the saving grace of God’s gift through a Christmas message, by way of Christmas card, to men and women on death row USA.
Join in sharing Christ’s love with a tax deductible gift of any size! (The Christmas cards and postage costs $1,800.00.) What is in it for you? While you may not be able to see them open the gift you have helped make happen, you will be able to take pride and comfort in knowing that you have helped give someone the gift of love, and knowledge of the Savior for Christmas this year! For those who are able to give a gift of $30.00 or more, we will be sending you a free copy of Lee Strobel’s book, “The Case for Christmas.” Prayerfully consider a gift to The Forgiveness Foundation Christian Ministries Christmas card outreach.
Gifts may be made on line by clicking on the donate tab on the left and following the instructions, or by mail to The Forgiveness Foundation Christian Ministries, P. O. Box 25113, Washington D. C. 20027. Please make check payable to The Forgiveness Foundation Christian Ministries, Inc. with a notation Christmas Card Outreach in the Memo section of your check.
Thank you for joining us in sharing love and the story of Jesus Christ over this Christmas season.
The only mission of the Forgiveness Foundation is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone we encounter. The primary difference between a long-term inmate sentenced to 10 years or longer and the death row inmate is that the death row inmate has a keener grasp on the importance of eternity. The long-term inmate is more often focused on what his situation will be when he is released from prison. Although a different challenge in ministering to this particular category of inmate it is not daunting. Since over 800,000 men and women fall into this category of inmate it is impossible for us to minister to them all so as names come to our attention we begin to write to them when we are sure that funds will be available to provide them with letter every month until they are released or die in prison. It is important to be consistent because it demonstrates reliability and dependability -- something many of these men and women never experienced before The Forgiveness Foundation began writing to them. Our first letter is the same in style as our first letter to a death row inmate; we share the good news of Jesus Christ with the inmate we write. We tell them that no matter what has transpired in their life that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and has already accepted the eternal punishment for their sin (crime). That Jesus wants to grant them eternal life in Heaven with Him, and all that they need to do is to sincerely ask Him to be Lord of their life. The Roman Road. Some write telling us that they are already saved and want to correspond with us. Others write back to tell us that they accepted Jesus and ask us to help them through the ordeal which they have found themselves in. Still some write back and tell us that they want to correspond with us, they are lonely -- they are alone, but that they want nothing to do with Jesus. Unfortunately a greater number does not write to us at all. I am not discouraged by letters from those who want to correspond but do not want Jesus because we are all about Jesus and we can't help share His love. Some eventually come to Jesus and some die lost forever. Since this ministry is tailored to the individual inmate all I can say is that once we receive a letter our ministry follows the need expressed in that letter wherever it may lead.
The Web Ministry: One ministry The Forgiveness Foundation is engaged in, is to challenge people throughout the world to read the Bible in one year and develop an active prayer life. Why? The purpose of the Bible reading is to help people know who Jesus is, coupled with an active prayer life to assist the participants to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Some are discovering Jesus through this ministry, while others are using it to get to know Jesus more intimately. The results to date are 240 people from 44 countries from every continent of the world are participating. Some from their homes, some American G.I.’s from military bases in the United States and abroad, some from Oxford University, some from Cambridge, some from Yale, Cornell, and Syracuse University and many more not mentioned. The bible teaches us to go into all the world and spread the Gospel, “And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15). That command is to all believers, which is why The Forgiveness Foundation is calling to reach out to the world with our World Wide Web Outreach.
Every time you share the love of Jesus with someone, your relationship with our Lord and Savior grows - you are engaged in worshiping HIM
