Cleve Foster was executed by the state of Texas on September 25, 2012.  Cleve was pronounced dead at 6:43 pm CDT, inside the Walls Unit execution chamber at the Huntsville State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas.  Cleve was 48 years of age.  He was executed for the rape and murder of 28-year-old Nyanuer Gatluak “Mary” Pal on February 14, 2002, in Fort Worth, Texas.

As a child, Cleve was abused and neglected.  He was beaten with belts and tree branches by his father who was an alcoholic. After graduating high school, Cleve joined the military and worked as a recruiter for a time.  During that time, Cleve was accused of giving alcohol to underage recruits and for having sexual relations with an underage potential recruit.  He was court-martialed for the accusations and denied the opportunity to re-enlist in the Army.  After leaving the Army, Cleve worked as an oil field worker, a construction worker, and a laborer.

Please pray for peace and healing for the family of Mary.  Please pray for the family of Cleve.  As part of his last words, Cleve expressed his faith in the Lord.
