Eleven men and no women have been

executed in the United States in 2017.

Donald Eugene Moeller was executed by the state of South Dakota on October 20, 2012.  Donald was pronounced dead at 10:24 pm CDT, inside the execution chamber at the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Donald was 60 years of age.  He was executed for the kidnapping, rape, and murder of 9-year-old Becky O’Connell on May 8, 1990, near Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Donald had a difficult and depraved childhood.  His family never celebrated Christmas and he had very little clothing.  By the age of 8, Donald was an alcoholic.  By the age of 11, Donald was smoking marijuana, which lead to huffing gasoline and other inhalants.  Donald also had a history of sexual assault and, on the day of Becky’s murder, was informed that the police were attempting to jail him for life as a habitual offender.

Please pray for peace and healing for the family of Becky and all those affected by Donald’s crimes.  Please pray for the family of Donald.  During his time in prison, Donald enjoyed reading the Bible, as well as the Book of Mormon.
