Fifteen men and no women have been

executed in the United States in 2017.

Lisa Ann Coleman was executed by the state of Texas on September 17, 2014.  Lisa was pronounced dead at 6:23 pm CDT, inside the Walls Unit execution chamber at the Huntsville State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas.  Lisa was 38 years of age.  She was executed for kidnapping and starving to death nine-year-old Davontae Williams on July 26, 2004, inside the apartment Lisa shared with her lover Marcella Williams, who was Davontae’s mother.  Marcella received a life sentence after pleading guilty.

 

Lisa was born as a result of rape.  She was sexually abused throughout her childhood and knifed in the back by a cousin at the age of 11.  Lisa spent part of her childhood in foster care, rarely seeing her mother.  Her mother gave her the nickname “Pig.”  By the age of 16, Lisa was addicted to drugs and alcohol.  Lisa had previously been arrested for burglary and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

 

Please pray for peace and healing for the family of Davontae Williams.  Please pray for peace for the family of Lisa.
