Commentary: Job likens himself to a defendant in a court of law who has not been told the charge against him. He repeatedly asks to the Lord to tell him the crime he committed to have deserved such suffering. Job recognizes that the Lord is in control and pleads for mercy.
Focus Verses: 9:14-20 Can you relate to Job’s feelings? How have you handled yourself when you were in a similar situation? Was that the right reaction? Why or why not?
