Commentary: So long as we keep our faith in the Lord God, God will keep His word to us, even if it takes longer than we may want or expect. We must be patient, constantly in prayer, listening for the Lord’s instructions, as they are not always so obvious. Both Esau and Jacob had their flaws, which are shown over the birthright issue (birthright is an advantage or special privilege given to the eldest son). Isaac, Jacob, Esau, and Ishmael demonstrate the importance of valuing our heritage and family history.
Focus Verses: 25:19-34 What is the lesson of the story in this passage? Do you apply it to your life? How? Are there other areas where it can be applied?
