February 23, 2018: Daily Bible Reading Commentary for Isaiah 40-44

Commentary: Isaiah has stopped warning of the destruction of other nations and is now focusing on Israel. He begins today’s reading by looking into the far future, rather than the near future, and addressing the survivors of an event that had not yet occurred! Isaiah spends much of today’s reading condemning idolatry, a problem that the world still faces today. Even in the midst of the dark image of coming judgement, the Lord still, and always will, provide hope to those who place their faith in Him.
