Commentary: David wrote all three of today’s psalms. In psalm 57, David is hiding from Saul, suffering. Through David’s suffering, we see the suffering that is to come to Jesus Christ. In Psalm 58, David prays for the destruction of his enemies. In Psalm 59, David prays for deliverance for himself and his family from Saul, who had sent men to watch David’s house and kill him. How great is David’s trust in the Lord?
Focus Verses: 58:1-11 David, and others, often pray for the destruction of their enemies. Why? Is this the right attitude? Why or why not? Do you pray for your enemies?
