Commentary: Amos’ introduction is brief before he begins pronouncing judgement on neighboring kingdoms, along with one of their crimes, and on Israel and Judah. Of course, all nations had committed more sins than what was listed by Amos, and their sins continued far into the past. Amos demonstrates whose actions are liked to other actions. He condemns these sinful actions and warns that Israel will be punished for its iniquities.
Focus Verses: 2:6-16 For what will Israel be judged? Do any of these warnings continue to apply today? Do any of these warning apply to your life?
