Context and Meaning: The book of Psalm, an Old Testament Book of the Christian faith, is one of, if not the most frequently quoted book in the New Testament. Each Psalm was written as poetry and was often put to music and sung. The psalms are very emotional, often eloquently and poetically describing the pain, fear, happiness, or other emotion that the writer is feeling at the time. The first two psalms talk about wisdom. They praise those who follow the wisdom of the Lord and warn the wicked that they will be punished for their deeds.
