Context and Meaning: Zophar, the third friend, expresses his black and white view of the world; Job must have sinned and is being punished for. Zophar has relatively little sympathy for his friend's suffering because he believes Job's suffering in just since Job refuses to repent. Job then expresses his frustration with his friends, speaking sarcastically to them. Job acknowledges the power and the wisdom of the Lord. Job speaks of the destructive power of Lord. People can become victims of this destruction regardless of their social or moral standings, therefore, it is with God that Job must settle his complaint.
