Context: All three of today’s psalms were written by David. Psalm 140 and 141 are both prayers for deliverance from evil. We have all been in situations where we also needed deliverance from evil. Psalms such as these remind us that we are not alone in our struggles and that, with the Lord’s help, we can overcome! Psalm 142 was written while David was hiding in cave. David hid in many caves, but this psalm does not specify at what point in David’s life this psalm occurs. David talks of pouring out his complaint before the Lord. David tells the Lord everything, just as we should. By telling the Lord, we are also forcing ourselves to be honest about our actions.
