Context: Paul reminds the Romans that Christ died for all sinners.  Think of the magnitude of that.  Jesus Christ, a man who was without sin, was willing to suffer and die so that we could experience the peace and joy of salvation.  Sin entered the world through one man (Adam) and salvation entered the world through one man (Jesus Christ).  Too many people are a slave to sin, they welcome sin, encourage it, and willing participate in it!  Sometimes it is not even recognized as sin!  Christ died for our sins.  Once you accept him as our Lord and Savior, instead of living as slaves to sin, live as slaves to righteousness, welcoming it, encouraging it, and willing participating in it, just as you used to do with sin.

World History: Around AD 60, Christianity began to spread to Egypt.  Egypt had adapted to Roman rule, which took full effect following the death of Cleopatra VII in 30 BC.  They continued to be inventive, with Hero of Alexandria developing the first ever steam engine.
