February 25, 2015: Daily Bible Reading with Commentary for Psalm 24-26

Context:All three of today's psalms are written by David. Psalm 24 tells of companions of the King who enter the Kingdom (1-6) and the King coming to set up the kingdom (7-10). Beginning in Psalm 25, the psalms record personal experiences of David, although we do not always know to what experience the psalm is referring. Psalm 25 talks of David's dependence on the Lord (1-7), his confidence in God (8-14), and David's time of trouble (15-21), ending with a plea for the redemption of Israel. Psalm 26 speaks of righteousness, which comes from God alone. We are not righteous in our own right; our righteousness only comes from the Lord.
