Commentary: Unintentionally sinning also requires a sacrifice; different sacrifice for different groups of people. Jesus would eventually become the ultimate sacrifice. Trespassing, invading the rights of others - man or God - also requires a sacrifice. Ignorance of law was no excuse for not providing an offering. Once aware of the sin, repentance is expected. Chapter 6 provides instructions on personal restitution and instructions to the priests for burnt offerings, grain offerings, and sin offerings.
Focus Verses: 4:27-28 What does the Lord say about unintentional sin? What is to be done? Why is theme repeated throughout today’s reading? Why is it important?
