Commentary: When David tried to act on his own, it ended in disaster.  When he followed the instructions of the Lord, given to Moses, David was successful.  And what a day that must have been!  No doubt, those present would tell their children and grandchildren what they experienced that day!  It was a joyous occasion and one of celebration!  David, unlike his son Solomon, continued to follow the Lord’s instructions and was blessed.  The spoils of war collected by David was not for himself.  He was preparing for his son, who was going to build the Lord’s Temple.

Focus Verses:  15:11-15  Compared to last week’s focus verses, David sought to do things according to the Lord.  He had learned his lesson and applied the correction.  When the Lord correct you, do you adjust your life accordingly or do you repeat the same mistakes?
