Commentary: Job did not speak for seven days. When he finally did speak, it was to curse the day of his birth. Eliphaz, the first of the friends responds to Job, introducing a reoccurring theme throughout this book: the reason for Job’s torment is because he must have sinned.
Focus Verses: 4:3-6 At some point in our lives, we are asked for our advice - we often like to give our advice without even being asked! Yet, when we are suffering, we become discouraged, certain that no one knows how we are suffering or is worthy of offering us advice. We must be willing to see what others see and hear their advice! What do these verses mean to you? How can you apply them to your life?
