Commentary: Chapters 34 and 35 share warnings of destructions and promised salvation for those who repent and seek the Lord. Chapters 34-39 became narrative, recording history, with some prophecy. These chapters take place during the time that Assyria surrounded Jerusalem, events recorded in II Kings 18-19 and II Chronicles 29-30.
Focus Verses: 37:2-6 Even when others claim to be speaking for the Lord, it is important to verify. Hezekiah went to the prophet Isaiah. Today, we can turn to the scriptures. How often do you believe what you are told instead of comparing what you are told to the word of God?
