Commentary: All three of today’s psalms are written by David. They carry a common theme: turning to the Lord and trusting in Him for deliverance. Psalm 54 was written after David had been betrayed by Saul. Psalm 55 may have been written during his flight from his son, Absalom, and after David had been betrayed by a trusted friend. Psalm 56 was written when David had been captured by the Philistines at Gath.
Focus Verses: 54:6-7 God has not yet delivered David from his enemies, yet David is already praising the Lord for doing so! Do you have such faith? Do you remember to praise the Lord for the good He has done, and will do, in your life?
