Re: June 2011 Newsletter
Dear Friend,
Seven men were executed during the month of May from six different states. Jeffrey Motts of South Carolina was the only one of the seven men executed that asked to have his sentence carried out and waived all of his rights to the appeals he was entitled to take. This group of men did not communicate with The Forgiveness Foundation, although we presented the Gospel to them monthly. Their lives are over and their eternal destiny is sealed forever. Since God does not want anyone to perish it is essential to share the Gospel with everyone we come in contact with.
The Forgiveness Foundation operates on three Christian principles: God does not want anyone to perish in eternal damnation. “The Lord is not slack concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2nd Peter 3:9 (NKJV) This verse is an encouragement to our ministry because it reinforces the need to get the Gospel to every person on this earth. God will not tarry forever.
The second principle: Is to take the Gospel to the entire world. And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15 (NKJV) The Forgiveness Foundation takes the Gospel to the entire world through our World Wide Web ministry and through our letter and teaching ministry to the over 3,200 men and women on death row across the United States.
The third principle: “… I was in prison and you came to Me. Matthew 25:36 (NKJV)''Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' Mathew 25:39 (NKJV) "And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did [it] to one of the least of these My brethren, you did [it] to Me.' Matthew 25:40 (NKJV). Jesus directed us to share the Gospel with the world and made it a point to mention taking the Gospel to men and women in in prison. The Forgiveness Foundation focuses its prison ministry on the 3,200 plus men and women on death row because they are isolated from the rest of the world, that includes the prison world, and are largely forgotten. The Forgiveness Foundation Christian Ministry let’s every man and woman on death row know that Christ has not forgotten them.
The following men are scheduled to be executed during the month of June 2011:
1. June 01 Gayland Charles Bradford Texas
2. June 14 Shawn Hawkins Ohio
3. June 14 Corey Moore Nebraska (Stayed)
4. June 15 John Balentine Texas
5. June 16 Taylor Lee Texas
6. June 16 Ricky Gray Virginia (Likely to be Stayed)
7. June 21 Milton Mathis Texas
8. June 22 Frank Williams, Jr. Arkansas (Stayed)
9. June 30 Richard Lynn Bible Arizona
Please pray for Gayland, Shawn, Corey, John, Taylor, Ricky, Milton, Frank, and Richard. Please pray for salvation for the unsaved, peace for the saved, and that if any are innocent, that their innocence be discovered before they are executed. I encourage you to pray for their families and the families of the victims of the crimes for which they are convicted. Pray for salvation for the unsaved, peace for the saved, and the ability to forgive.
I have the most rewarding job in the world; I get to share the Gospel with over 3,200 people every month. Also, I have been blessed with the opportunity to get to know God better through the Bible study I have to do to answer the questions I am asked every month. Are you taking advantage of the opportunities to share the Gospel you are presented with? The New Orleans Police Chief, Ronal Serpas, told a reporter for Times Picayune that the high murder rate in our fair city is not about drugs, but is people involved in criminal activity killing each other; they know each other. He said the problem can only be resolved by parents teaching their children that violence is not the way to solve disputes with other people. This is partially correct. When you share the Gospel with someone who accepts Christ, the Bible says that they become a new creation and old things are passed away. (2nd Corinthians 5:17). Get involved; help change a life by sharing the Gospel.
In order to reach the men and women on death row The Forgiveness Foundation must purchase supplies like all other non-profit organizations and businesses. We need your financial support to purchase the supplies we need. Each month we use postage, paper, envelopes, and toner for our printers, electricity, telephone, and internet charges to take the love of Jesus Christ to the men and women on death row by the mail and to over 70 countries through our web site. I encourage you to consider Jesus on the cross at Calvary, being executed between two guilty men, taking the living Gospel to death row. A condemned man, in his last moments of life, was pardoned of his sin by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We need your assistance to share the Gospel. Prayerfully consider a gift to support The Forgiveness Foundation and do as God leads you. You may make your gift online at www.theforgivenessfoundation.org, clicking on the PayPal or donate tab and follow the instructions. If you prefer, you may mail your gift to The Forgiveness Foundation, P. O. Box 24098, New Orleans, Louisiana 70184.
I close with 2nd Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if anyone [is] in Christ, [he is] a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV) I encourage you to do two things: The First is to share the Gospel with someone in your community or at work. The second is to support The Forgiveness Foundation in prayer and finances. We need your prayers for God’s direction and wisdom for our ministry and we need your financial support to get the Gospel to the men and women on death row USA. Thank you for your support.
Godspeace!
