SCRIPTURE FOR MEDITATION, PRAYER AND REFLECTION

APRIL 29-MAY 5, 2012

(15)”If you love me keep my commandments. (16) And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever - (17) the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him or knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be with you. (18) I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:15-18 (NKJV)

Resurrection Sunday was just 20 days ago. In 20 more days, Jesus will ascend to heaven to be seated at the right hand of the Father. Ten days from Jesus’ ascension to be with the Father, the day of Pentecost is celebrated and the coming of the Holy Spirit is described in the Book of Acts chapter 2. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, is a topic which the Christian church deals with gently. I encourage you to pray, reflect, and meditate over the verse for this week and follow The Forgiveness Foundation study on the coming and the purpose of the Holy Spirit.
