Commentary: Job is the only person to speak in today’s reading. He likens himself to a defendant in a court of law who has not been told the charge against him. He repeatedly asks the Lord to tell him the crime he committed to have deserved such suffering. Job recognizes that the Lord is in control and pleads for mercy.
