Richard CobbRichard Aaron Cobb was executed by the state of Texas on April 25, 2013. He was pronounced dead at 6:27 pm CDT, inside the Walls Unit execution chamber at the Huntsville State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas. Richard was 29 years of age. He was executed for the murder of 24-year-old Kenneth Wayne Vandever on September 2, 2002, in Rusk, Texas. Kenneth, along with Candace Driver and Nikki Dement, were kidnapped from a convenience store. They were taken to an abandoned field where Nikki was sexually assaulted. Then all three were shot. Candace and Nikki both survived their injuries. Richard’s accomplice for the crime, Beunka Adams, was also sentenced to death and executed on April 26, 2012.

Richard grew up in foster care and was eventually adopted. His adoptive mother testified that Richard and his brothers had serious emotional problems. Richard started to use drugs at the age of 12 and began robbing to pay for his drug habit. Before his arrested, Richard worked as a laborer. He attended school until the 11th grade.
