Day 122: Journey Through the Bible in One Year
Focus Verses for Today: 2 Samuel 6:20-22

Ask the Lord to reveal His truth concerning 2 Samuel 5-9 to you. Read 2 Samuel 5-9. Let’s journey!

2 SamuelCommentary: David becomes king over all Israel and conquers Jerusalem. He also defeats the Philistines. With Israel no longer wandering, David brings the Ark of Covenant outside of Jerusalem. David is criticized by his wife for setting aside his royal robes and dancing before the Lord. He reminds her that we are not to be embarrassed for honoring the Lord. David wanted to build a permanent home for the ark and sought out Nathan, a prophet. David is informed that he will not be the one to build the ark’s home, but instead it will be his son. As king, the Lord was with David and he had many victories over his enemies. David also remembered the kindness shown to him by Jonathan and sought a way to repay that debt.
