Day 141: Journey Through the Bible in a Year
Focus Verses for Today: 2 Corinthians 11:1-15

Ask God for His understanding of 2 Corinthians 11-13. Read 2 Corinthians 11-13. Let’s journey!

2 CorinthiansCommentary: Paul refused to take money from the Corinthians to support his missionary work, which led to accusations of him being inferior. Paul is following Jesus’ example of serving. Although, Paul was not the perfect missionary, lacking oratory skills and being physically weak, however, he relied upon the Lord to sustain him and was, as we know, blessed in his efforts to spread God’s word. Paul again refutes false claims against him and warns that when he returns, he will only deal with serious issues (issues that are in accordance with Mosaic Law, which requires multiple witnesses).

Focus Verses: 2 Corinthians 11:1-15 – At some point in our lives, everyone has to defend themselves from false accusations. What can we learn from Paul’s example? How does he defend himself? Think back to a recent, similar situation. How did you react? After reflecting upon this passage, what would you change in your reaction?
