Focus Verses For Today: Psalm 142:1-2

Today’s journey continues our study in the book of Psalms. We reflect on the past and praise the Lord.

Take a moment and pray, seeking understanding for today’s reading. Read Psalms 140-142. Let’s journey!

PsalmsPsalms 140-142: David is the author of all three psalms we read today. David prays for deliverance from the Lord in the first two psalms. Our final psalm was written while David was in a cave. It is a prayer to the Lord, telling Him everything. (Psalms 137:1-139:24)

Our focus verses for today:

1I cry aloud to the Lord;
    I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy.
2I pour out before him my complaint;
    before him I tell my trouble.
(Psalm 142:1-2, NIV)

Whatever David faced, he turned to the Lord, telling Him of his problems. Are you like David? Do you turn first to the Lord?
