DAY 159: JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR
Today’s journey takes us through Proverbs chapters 2 and 3. Proverbs was written by the wisest human to ever live, King Solomon. Let’s explore this study in wisdom.
Ask God for His understanding of Provers 2-3. Read Proverbs 2-3. Let’s journey!
King Solomon, son of King David, is believed to be the wisest man who ever lived, with the exception of Jesus Christ. King Solomon is the author of most of the book of Proverbs, which means wisdom. Solomon, upon being crowned king, was offered a gift from the Lord. Already showing wisdom, Solomon asked that the Lord bestow upon him wisdom to rule wisely. Wisdom is about how to live in a way that honors God and all wisdom comes from the Lord.
Proverbs 2-3: There are many benefits of wisdom. The benefits are long life, prosperity, and discernment. There are also moral benefits of wisdom. (Proverbs 2:1-3:35)
Following today’s reading, take some time and meditate on a piece of wisdom that stood out to you. Consider why you are drawn to that piece of wisdom. Does it go against what the secular world teaches? What is God trying to teach you through this piece of wisdom? How can that wisdom be applied to your life?
