DAY 222: JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR

Once again we journey through the book of Proverbs, specifically chapter 16.

Pray for God’s wisdom to be revealed in today’s reading. Read Proverbs 16. Let’s journey!

ProverbsKing Solomon, son of King David, is believed to be the wisest man who ever lived, with the exception of Jesus Christ. King Solomon is the author of most of the book of Proverbs, which means wisdom. Solomon, upon being crowned king, was offered a gift from the Lord. Already showing wisdom, Solomon asked that the Lord bestow upon him wisdom to rule wisely. Wisdom is about how to live in a way that honors God and all wisdom comes from the Lord.

Proverbs 16: The book of Proverbs is devoted to contrasting wisdom and its rewards with folly which leads to disaster. (Proverbs 16:1-33)

Following today’s reading, take some time and meditate on a piece of wisdom that stood out to you. Consider why you are drawn to that piece of wisdom. Does it go against what the secular world teaches? What is God trying to teach you through this piece of wisdom? How can that wisdom be applied to your life?
