DAY 228: JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR

Today we journey through Psalms 96-98; it is a journey of praise and wonder.

Ask God to give you His understanding of Psalms 96-98. Read Psalms 96-98. Let’s journey!

PsalmsAs we journey through the fourth book of Psalms, remember that nearly every psalm can be classified as a psalm of Lament or a psalm of praise. A lament is a cry to the Lord, asking Him to do something, most often when we are in pain, confused, or angry. A psalm of praise is a prayer of joy and celebration, thanking the Lord for His work.

Psalms 96-98: Psalms 96-98 carry the theme of praising the Lord. All nations will praise the Lord. All creation will praise the Lord. Everything created by God will praise Him. Everything! (Psalms 96:1-98:9)

Read chapters 96-98, and ask yourself these questions: Are these psalms of lament or praise? How do you know? What does this psalm teach you about the Lord God? Take a moment and offer up to the Lord God at least one praise and one lament from your own life.
