DAY 334: JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR

Today, we conclude our journey through the book of Ecclesiastes and finding meaning in life.

Ask the Lord for His understanding of Ecclesiastes 11-12. Read Ecclesiastes 11-12.  Let’s journey!

EcclesiastesIt is not known for certain who wrote the book of Ecclesiastes, however, many believe it to be King Solomon.  The book of Ecclesiastes looks for the meaning of life and warns that we should be careful of what we try and use to find meaning in life.  Life is temporary and fleeting, with its pleasure short-lived.  The book sets out to answer the question of how we should live our life?

Ecclesiastes 11-12: Life is uncertain.  We do not and cannot know how anything will turn out; it is all in God’s hands.  Appreciate what we have been given and be thankful for all.  Age will not bring meaning and fulfillment to your life.  The Lord, and following Him, is all that will bring meaning to life.  (Ecclesiastes 11:1-12:14)

After concluding today’s reading, consider the following: What wisdom does the book offer about how to live life?  What does the author try to find meaning in life? What is the result?  How have you tried to find meaning in your life?  What have you learned?
