March 2, 2018: Daily Bible Reading Commentary for Isaiah 45-50

Commentary: Chapter 45 focus on Cyrus (who would not be born for another 150 years) and God as the creator.  Chapter 46 pronounced judgement upon idols, while chapter 47 foretells the decline and fall of Babylon, who is known for their idol worship.  In chapter 48, God once again calls for Israel.  Chapter 49 restores hope with the promise of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ.  In the final chapter for today, Israel is asked to consider why they have been set aside by the Lord.

Focus Verses:  47:1-9  What warning is being issued?  Why will Israel be delivered in the hands of Babylon?  What message can you draw from this passage?
