Iran: On Sunday, November 24, 2019, Mohammad Dabir was executed at Birjand prison. This execution has not been confirmed by the government. He was convicted of drug related charges.

On Thursday, November 28, 2019, an unnamed nature conservationist guard was executed by handing in Kerman city. He was convicted of killing a hunter over 10 years ago. The guard was accused of killing the hunter “outside of his area of responsibility on his off-day.”

On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, 33-year-old Somayeh Shahbazi Jahroei was executed by hanging at Spider Prison in Ahwaz. Somayeh had been sentenced to death for murdering the man who was attempting to rape her. After realizing she killed the man, Somayeh took the body outside of town, lighting it on fire.



Japan: The Japanese Supreme Court has upheld a ruling that overturned the death sentence of 44-year-old Kyozo Isohi. Kyozo was convicted and sentenced to death for stabbing to death 42-year-old Shingo Minamino and 66-year-old Toshi Sasaki on a street in Osaka. His sentenced was reduced to an indefinite prison term, as he was experiencing auditory hallucinations and the attack was unplanned.



Pakistan: On Saturday, November 23, 2019, Brigadier Raja Rizwan was allegedly executed by hanging for acting as a spy for the American Central Intelligence Agency. The Pakistani government has not confirmed the execution. Rizwan once served as the Pakistani defense attaché in Germany and retired in 2014. Wasim Akram, a civilian doctor was also arrested along with Rizwan, and was also sentenced to death. It is believed that both men were recruited early in their careers and passed along information regarding Pakistan’s nuclear program, army plans, and information about support for jihad groups.



Thailand: Two Australian men were arrested in Thailand as part of a group during a drug raid. If convicted, 58-year-old Steven Brett Hovi and 46-year-old Jamie Robert Hansom could be sentenced to death. Also arrested was 38-year-old Nigerian national Chimezie Stanley Duru and 35-year-old Jiraporn Kiatsutthachit and 34-year-old Wirapha Ungsri, both Thai nationals. Allegedly the men were members of the Hells Angels and Comanchero motorcycle gangs and are suspected of selling crystal methamphetamine to tourists.



United States of America: Lee Hall a/k/a Leroy Hall Jr., was executed by electric chair on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institute near Nashville, Tennessee. Lee was 53 years of age. He was convicted of murdering 22-year-old Traci Crozier on April 17, 1991, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The federal government has decided to pursue a rare federal death sentence against one of 10 alleged gang members that was arrested and charged last year in a massive racketeering case. Thirty-one-year-old Michael “Gallo” Rebolledo is also charged with three murders, including participating in a 2006 quadruple shooting in San Fransisco, California. His co-defendants include 32-year-old Jonathan “Trompo” Aguilar, 34-year-old Luis “Lonely Boy” Cid-Salinas, 30-year-old Juan “Huero” Gallardo, 37-year-old Josue “Ghost” Gonzalez, 36-year-old Orlando “Chisto” Hernandez, 39-year-old Mario “Shy Boy” Reyes, 32-year-old Luis “Grizzly” Rojas, 30-year-old Eddy “Rhino” Urbina, and 31-year-old Weston “Cartoon” Venegas. All are alleged to be members of two different Sureño gangs. In addition to racketeering charges, most also face murder charges, with seven victims listed, although their names have not been revealed.
