And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe. (1 Thessalonians 2:13, NIV)

DAY 204: JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR

Focus Verse For Today: 1 Thessalonians 2:13

Today we begin our journey through 1 Thessalonians, with Paul’s message of encouragement to church at Thessalonica.

Ask God for His understanding of 1 Thessalonians 1-3. Read 1 Thessalonians 1-3. Let’s journey!

1 Thessalonians 1-3: The first three chapters of this letter finds the apostle Paul sharing his love for them expressing his desire to visit with them again. The apostle Paul also mentions that he is in constant prayer for them and their spiritual growth. (1 Thessalonians 1:1-3:13, NIV)

Our focus verse for today:

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe. (1 Thessalonians 2:13, NIV)

The key words of the focus verse for today, … ”you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God,…”  Whether you accept the word of God as from man or from God makes no difference in regard to their source, authority, or power. It does make a difference in your relationship with God. Acknowledging God fully, in all aspects of your relationship with Him, will enhance your relationship with the true God. The word of God expresses His authority and power in His words.
