Focus Verses For Today: Revelation 10:9-11

Today, we continue our journey through the book of Revelation. The seventh seal is broken and the roles of the two witnesses are revealed.

Ask the Lord for His understanding of Revelation 7-11. Read Revelation 7-11. Let’s journey!

RevelationRevelation 7-11: One-hundred-forty-four-thousand will be marked as the Lord’s – 12,000 from each tribe. They will serve as the Lord’s messengers during the days of tribulation. The seventh seal is broken and the trumpets are sounded. A vision is revealed to John that he is not to record. The roles of the two witnesses are revealed and the final trumpet sounded. (Revelation 7:1-11:19)

Our focus verses for today:

9 So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but ‘in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.’” 10 I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour. 11 Then I was told, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings.”
(Revelation 10:9-11, NIV)

The word of God had become part of John. He knew God’s word and could preach on it. John experienced joy in sharing God’s word, “sweet as honey in my mouth.” John experienced sorrow in the rejection of his teachings by others, “stomach turned sour.” We will all experience ups and downs, sweets and sours, when sharing the word of God. Don’t let it discourage you!
