Letter
The Forgiveness Foundation Christian Ministries, Inc. was formed as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) Christian organization with the express purpose of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with every man and woman sentenced to die for crime committed in the United States of America. Since March 8, 2005, thousands of letters, Christmas, and birthday cards have been sent to the men and women who are serving time on death row. Our ministry is simple: we share God’s love for them through Jesus Christ in letter and pray for a reply. Every reply receives a personal response to the letter received addressing the concerns or conversation in the letter received. We are not timid. We tell them we are about Jesus, all about Jesus. This does not stop us from exchanging letters with a Muslim who wants to exchange letters but is fearful we will drop him because of his faith. We will exchange letters with him until he tells us to stop. Our ministry to the death row inmates has grown to contacting Chaplains regarding spiritual needs of an inmate or contacting prison administration when an inmate complains that his/her health needs are not being met. All we pray is that the love of Jesus Christ shows through us.
Prayer
Pray for us! That’s right! Pray for us. Every letter that leaves our office has an express purpose and we pray that the letter we send meets that purpose. It may be a letter that nudges someone toward salvation. It may be a letter that makes an inmate decide against suicide. It may be a letter that supports and shows love. God has a purpose for every letter we mail and although we prayerfully seek God’s guidance in our response to letters we receive it is awesome to know that we have prayer warriors seeking God’s direction and purpose for every letter that leaves Washington D. C. for a prison.
Although we do not get a lot of phone calls from family members, the calls are challenging and the very first thing we do after answering the call and getting a little information from the caller is to pray with them before continuing our conversation. We need prayer for God’s wisdom in handling those calls. Consider being a prayer warrior for The Forgiveness Foundation Christian Ministries, Inc.
