Shannon Johnson Executed in Delaware

The state of Delaware executed Shannon M. Johnson on April 20, 2012. Shannon was pronounced dead at 2:55 am local time inside the execution chamber at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna, Delaware. Shannon was 28 years of age. He was convicted and executed for the murder of 26-year-old Cameron Hamlin, on September 24, 2006. Cameron was dating Shannon’s ex-girlfriend. Shannon asked to halt his appeals after spending three years on death row in Delaware.

Shannon had a long criminal history, which included raping a 7-month pregnant teenager in 2002.
