Luke 19-20: Today, Luke shares Jesus’ encounter with Zacchaeus with us. Luke shares the Parable of the Ten Minas with us. Are you exercising the faith God has given you fully? Jesus enters Jerusalem as a triumphant King. Jesus teaches and is challenged by the Pharisees and Sadducees at the temple. (Luke 19:1-20:47)
Our focus verse for today:
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
(Luke 19:10, NIV)
Jesus came to save you. Did you get that? Jesus came to save you! Zacchaeus was lost in sin. He lived every day to exploit those from whom he was assigned to collect taxes. Then he met Jesus. His life changed. He forsook sin to follow Jesus. He sought to live a righteous life. Zacchaeus appeared to be enslaved and separated from God by greed. Through Jesus, Zacchaeus found freedom in a relationship with God. Zacchaeus replaced his idol, greed, with the only true God, Jesus.
