DAY 327: JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR
Today, we continue our journey through the book of Ecclesiastes and finding meaning in life.
Ask the Lord for His understanding of Ecclesiastes 9-10. Read Ecclesiastes 9-10. Let’s journey!
It is not known for certain who wrote the book of Ecclesiastes, however, many believe it to be King Solomon. The book of Ecclesiastes looks for the meaning of life and warns that we should be careful of what we try and use to find meaning in life. Life is temporary and fleeting, with its pleasure short-lived. The book sets out to answer the question of how we should live our life?
Ecclesiastes 9-10: In today’s journey, Solomon begins his conclusion to the study of finding meaning in life. He reflects that all life ends the same, regardless of actions. We should celebrate being alive. It is better to be wise than foolish, strong, or anything else. Life is not always fair, with wisdom often going unrewarded. Wisdom is demonstrated in many ways, including the ability to control our speech. (Ecclesiastes 9:1-10:20)
After concluding today’s reading, consider the following: What wisdom does the book offer about how to live life? What does the author try to find meaning in life? What is the result? How have you tried to find meaning in your life? What have you learned?
