Psalms 143-145: David is the author of all three psalms we read today. David prays to the Lord for guidance in our first psalm. The next two psalms are psalms of praise. (Psalms 143:1-145:21)

Our focus verses for today:

8 The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
    slow to anger and rich in love.
9 The Lord is good to all;
    he has compassion on all he has made.
(Psalm 145:8-9, NIV)

David certainly knew the Lord. He had experienced the Lord’s graciousness and compassion. He had seen the Lord’s love and been thankful that the Lord was slow to anger. Think of times in your life when you have seen the Lord and His work. Have you praised Him?
