Ray Jasper III was executed by the state of Texas on March 19, 2014. Ray was pronounced dead at 6:31 pm local time, inside the execution chamber at the Walls Unit of the Huntsville State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas. Ray was 33 years of age. He was executed for the murder of 33-year-old David Mendoza Alejandro on November 29, 1998, in San Antonio, Texas. David, an acquaintance of Ray, was murdered during the course of a robbery of his recording studio.

Ray, whose father was a career military man, grew up in a stable home. His parents remained happily married. Ray’s criminal career began at the age of 15 when he stole a bicycle. However, before that, he was expelled from two schools. Ray’s crimes escalate over the next several years. Before his arrest, Ray worked as a laborer.
