Robert Eugene Hendrix was executed by the state of Florida on April 23, 2014. He was pronounced dead at 6:21 pm local time, inside the execution chamber of the Florida State Prison in Raiford. Robert was 47 years of age. He was executed for the murder of his cousin 25-year-old Elmer Bryant Scott, Jr., and his wife 18-year-old Susan Michelle Scott on August 27, 1990, in Sorrento, Florida. Robert murdered Elmer to prevent him from testifying against him regarding a burglary.

Robert did not have an easy childhood. His father had a bad temper and would beat Robert with belts. Robert’s sisters testified that he was a good brother and uncle. Robert began using drugs at a young age and became addicted.
