William Rousan, Missouri
William L. Rousan was executed by the state of Missouri on April 23, 2014. William was pronounced dead at 12:10 am local time, inside the execution chamber at the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic, and Corrections Center in Bonne Terre, Missouri. He was 57 years of age. William was executed for the murder of 67-year-old Charles E. Lewis III and his wife 62-year-old Grace Lewis on September 21, 1993. William, his son Brent, and William’s brother Robert staked out the couple’s home and shot them while robbing the house.
William had a deprived childhood. He attended high school, where he was a leader on the track team. William had previously been in prison in Washington state, from which he escaped for a time, for rape and assault. While serving time in prison in the state of Washington, William did not have any conduct violations and was a good worker in the vocational horticulture program. Once out of prison, William continued horticulture work for a time.
