James DeRosaJames Lewis DeRosa was executed by the state of Oklahoma on June 18, 2013. He was pronounced dead at 6:07 pm CDT, inside the execution chamber at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester, Oklahoma. James was 36 years of age. He was executed for the murder of 73-year-old Curtis R. Plummer and his wife 70-year-old Gloria E. Milligan Plummer on October 2, 2000, inside the couple’s Poteau, Oklahoma, home. James had previously worked for the Plummers on their ranch before robbing and killing them. James’ accomplice John Eric Castleberry received a life without parole sentence.  The juvenile driver, Scotty Wayne, received a 25-year sentence.

James was abused as a child and sexually molested by his father. He did not have a stable childhood, as his mother was in the Army and she struggled to find someone to care for him. He joined the Army after graduating from high school but was discharged for bad conduct.

Please pray for peace and healing for the family of Curtis and Gloria Plummer. Please pray for the family of James. While in prison, James became a Messianic Jew.
