Jamie Bruce McCoskey was executed by the state of Texas on November 12, 2013. Jamie was pronounced dead at 6:44 pm CST inside the Walls Unit execution chamber at the Huntsville State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas. Jamie was 49 years of age. He was executed for the kidnapping and murder of 20-year-old Michael Keith Dwyer on November 13, 1991, in Michael’s Houston, Texas apartment. Jamie also kidnapped Michael’s fiancee, Laurie Collins, and raped her.

Jamie was abused as a child and had behavioral problems. Jamie dropped out of school after the 9th grade. He worked as a landscaper before his arrest. He had previously spent time in prison for kidnapping and violating his parole.
