Texas executed Jesse Joe Hernandez on March 28, 2012. Jesse was pronounced dead at 6:18 pm local time inside the Walls Unit execution chamber at the Huntsville State Penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas. Jesse was 47 years of age. He was convicted of and executed for the murder of 10-month-old Karlos Borjas on April 11, 2001, in Dallas, Texas. Jesse was babysitting the child at the time. Evidence also showed that the child had been beaten. Karlos’ family was living with Jesse and his wife at the time of the murder. Jesse spent the last ten years of his life on death row in Texas.

Jesse had previously been convicted and served time for possession of cocaine and indecency with a child. He later served time for failing to register as a sex offender. He also had a history of assault.
